The Company organized by the residents of Berlin, Dover and LaMoille townships in Bureau County, Illinois and was called the Berlin Township Mutual Insurance Company. The first policies were issued on May 1, 1875. The company's territory has grown from the three original townships to thirty-nine counties in northern Illinois. Berlin Mutual Insurance provides insurance coverage for farm owners, homeowners, mobile homes, dwelling fire, inland marine, livestock, boats, unlicensed recreational vehicles, farm and personal liability, and umbrella coverage. The company has offices in Princeton Illinois.
Berlin Mutual Insurance Company of Princeton Illinois, recent winner of the prestigious Company Achievement Award presented by the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (IAMIC), has selected PSI as their new processing partner for Website initiated policyholder payments.
PSI has created customized web pages for Berlin Mutual’s existing website. This initiative will allow policyholders to pay their premiums with a credit card or by electronic check directly on the website. The electronic check payment is a new service that Berlin Mutual is able to offer to customers through this relationship with PSI.
“We were looking for a processor that could save us money and at the same time provide us with us new capabilities that would help us serve our customers. PSI understands what we need and they are able to work within our systems and relationships. We didn’t have to make any changes to our operations to offer the services that our customers have been asking for.” Says Harold Read, Treasurer of Berlin Mutual Insurance.
PSI’s President Ron Schlegel states, “We are thrilled and honored to add Berlin Mutual Insurance to our expanding list of insurance company clients. We believe that this new relationship highlights the fact that insurance firms are looking for solutions that will allow them to better serve their policyholders by providing the broadest array of payment choices affordably and securely.”
